March 12, 2021 Red Zone Counties Update

Life Works Residential continues to follow the daily updates of our state’s red zone counties. These can be viewed at https://govstatus.egov.com/kycovid19 . We ask that all residential participants and FHPs continue to follow the red zone guidance any time the county you reside in is in a red zone or an activity you have planned is occurring in a red zone.

Red Zone Counties for the Week of 3/1/21-3/7/21

We are so excited to start seeing more and more counties leaving the “Red Zone” here at Life Works and have hopes that many more will soon follow. We presently have 75% of all participants having received their 1st round of the COVID vaccine and 25% having already received their 2nd round of the COVID vaccine. We are beginning to work with participant teams to make plans for returning to ADT and some safe community activities.

November 6th Update

In doing our part to ensure the health and safety of our participants, employees, families and the community as a whole we will be continuing to follow the Governor’s Red Zone Reduction Recommendations. At this time the governor has not mandated the closure of day training facilities and we respect that each SCL provider agency is tasked to make decisions regarding their own operations and policies.

Life Works’ agency policy is for all participants receiving FHP services with Life Works who reside in a red zone county or receive any in-person service in a red zone not attend or receive any in-person service such as ADT, PCC, PBS, CA or work any non-essential community job while in the red zone. Additionally, we will continue to facilitate socially distanced visits that can occur outdoors with a minimum of six feet distancing while wearing face coverings. If a participant and his/her legal guardian desire to have a visit occur outside of the FHP home, the legal guardian will be required to sign a consent to care form stating he/she will provide care to the participant in their own home for a period no less than 10 days, obtain a negative COVID test for the participant, and provide the residential agency a copy of the test results prior to the participant returning to the FHP’s care. If a participant and his/her legal guardian have extenuating circumstances they feel warrant an exemption to this policy, Life Works will facilitate a team meeting for all members of the participant’s person-centered team to evaluate the circumstance. All team members must be in agreement that the exemption is warranted and necessary.

We will be reevaluating the red zone counties each Thursday evening, when the Governor releases the rates for each county.  Thank you for your understanding and assistance in helping to keep everyone safe and healthy.  We hope everyone’s commitment to the red zone recommendations will result in counties reducing their cases and returning to yellow or orange zones quickly.

November 5, 2020 Update
